Warm Oil, Calm Mind, Soft Body
Ayurvedic Abhyanga Massage for the soul
What is Abhyanga?
Meaning: The word "Abhyanga" is derived from Sanskrit, where "Abhi" means "into," and "Anga" means "limbs". The Sanskrit word for oil, sneha, also translates to "love" or "compassion," emphasizing the self-love and nurturing aspect of the practice.
Focus: Unlike a conventional massage that primarily targets muscle manipulation, the main purpose of Abhyanga is the generous application and absorption of oil into the skin to nourish tissues, calm the nervous system, and balance the body's energy (doshas).
Routine: It is recommended as a daily self-care ritual (Dinacharya) to ward off the effects of aging, exertion, and anxiety.
Panchakarma: Abhyanga is also an integral part of Panchakarma, Ayurveda's comprehensive detoxification and rejuvenation process
